Okay, well what do you think of the new look? After
several months of programming it is finally done. I
must apologize for the wait, as sometimes things do
not work out the way you want.
This month as you can see we have several changes that we have made.
Navigation:
It is now easier than ever to navigate the site,
you will notice that each page looks the same with
the navigation links on the right hand side of the
screen. Why the right? To be different I guess,
that is the only reason. You will also notice that
while you are on the default page for a section the
hyper-link is shaded blue.
Downloading:
I do realize that with the advent of 56k modems
that downloads are generally fast, but since most
of the population still uses a 28.8 or 33.6 we need
to program for them first. You will notice that all
the pages look the same as well, this makes the
site load faster.
Sections:
We have reduced the number of different sections,
so there is not as much hyper-linking around the
site. Each section has it's own default page, with
all articles printed for that section in it. They
will stay there for good now that we have the site
properly set up. So you can come back next month or
next year and read something that you missed or use
it for reference material.
Where Am I?
This is an easy way to see where you are in the
site. Each "Where are you?" starts in the magazine
section, and works down to where you are, each is
linked to the previous page.
Comments:
I would appreciate any comments you have on the
magazine and its new layout. Do you like it, or
hate it, let us know. This is the only way for us
to design the site in a way you like.
Contests:
You will see a few contests in the next while to.
I have talked to several dive shops in the area
and they are willing to give prizes for this.
Keep on eye on the site for more information.
Note:
We are currently seeking advertisers for the site.
Why? Currently we publish and pay for the site out
of the editors (me) pocket. There is a lot of time
and effort put into setting up a site like this
every month, as well as paying for the space that
it takes up. With advertising in the magazine, it
will help to alleviate the monthly bills.
Well that is all I have to say for the month. Enjoy
yourself.
